with the CMA

The Concorde Initiative and The Complementary Medical Association (CMA) are no longer working in collaboration in the use of complementary medicine (CAM) and natural products in Avian Flu.

|
Both organisations were initially working together on Avian Flu, and Dr Concorde provided the CMA with some basic understanding of immune system modulation which may be of only limited or minimal value in the event of an Avian Flu pandemic without further specialist interpretation on an individual by individual basis. This work may have formed some of the basis on which the CMA has built their current recommendations.

Dr Concorde has not provided the CMA with the basis of her Constitutional Approach to Avian Flu and viruses in general. It is therefore very unlikely that any approach which the CMA is claiming is a 'new approach' is related to constitutional medicine.

Given the severity of the potential pandemic, the need to be as certain as possible in making recommendations to the public and to comply with legislation governing the recommendation of natural products, Dr Concorde has felt it necessary to undertake extreme due diligence prior to making any guidance public.

Dr Concorde's due diligence is nearing completion and her book and website, which will provide her recommended approaches for individual preparedness given the threat of Avian Flu, will be available shortly.

The CMA has taken a different approach to preparing for Avian Flu.
|
|
As both organisations were originally working together, we would like to remove any potential confusion that may exist.
|
|
Dr Alex Concorde would also like to make it clear that she does not, in the main, endorse or support a generic approach using standard doses and dose regimens of supplements for modulating the immune system to try to protect against or treat infection with the H5N1 virus, except on an individual by individual basis.

|
Dose enhanced regimens and inappropriate combinations of natural products may similarly be counter-productive in the prevention or treatment of H5N1 infection. Therefore Dr Concorde considers it is essential that all recommendations and guidance is provided strictly by suitably qualified professionals.

Neither does Dr Concorde support any claims as to the use of any complementary medicines with the categorical intention of protecting against H5N1 or treating anyone with a H5N1 infection.

Neither does Dr Concorde support any claims that it is possible to modulate the immune system to become impervious to disease.
